We are a non-profit association and in Myanmar (Burma), one of the poorest countries in the world, we are engaged in raising the standard of education of children and young people.
Here are our guidelines to enable people to rely on their own abilities and help themselves and Learning by Doing. In our opinion helping does not mean giving presents. Helping the people in Myanmar can only be effective if it gives them a chance to organize for themselves a life without hunger and need.
The association was founded in 2000 and has almost 500 members (in 2019).
We cooperate with the Buddhist Monastery School Phaung Daw Oo (PDO) in Mandalay. This school, with 9000 students, ranging from Nursery School to School leaving examination, is the biggest school in the country. In addition, we have another Nursery School and a small Primary School in Mingun, a small village not far from Mandalay. In Mingun there live about 200 of our godchildren.
It is very important for us to have partners that support our projects sustainably and are able to continue the projects on their own.
Our administrative expenses add up to less than 5% of our revenues (contributions, donations, public benefits). So 95% of all the donations benefit the people of Myanmar.
